Buddies

This is a layout I did a couple weeks ago when I was up I Estes Park. I love this picture of my Dad and his great grandson, West. I have wanted to document this beautiful photo on a layout ever since I saw it.

I kept it rather simple, using brown tones and greens. I distressed the edges and inked them. I used my Silhouette to cut out the title and the phrase. I used a stencil and some modeling paste to create some texture and dimension. It dried with a glossy look, which was not was what I was going for, but I ended up liking it after all. It helped to bring in some deeper brown tones to the layout. Here's a couple of close ups.

5 things I Love about you

Here's a quick and simple layout I did. Sometimes it's nice to do something simple, while using the chipboard stickers and embellishments that come together. It was nice to have this done in just a few minutes! Hope you like it!

Estes Park

I'm up in Estes Park with my scrapbook friends. We have a weekend every year that we come up here to crop and have fun. We are fortunate that Amy and Allison's parents own a cabin up here, so we put tables up and crop all weekend! We also do a card swap, so I'm attaching pictures of the cards that I did this year. One was a fun simple one that I let the silhouette do most of the work for me. The other one I did some layering and added some flowers to.

I also have a picture of my silhouette cameo. Just before I came up to Estes, I played with vinyl so I decorated my cameo. I really liked how it turned out!

And I have also been playing a little with my new camera. My daughter, Kaitlyn bought me my first SLR camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T3i. I love it! I've only had it about a month, so I'm still learning all that it can do. This morning I went outside the cabin to take a few shots and I found this huge bumble bee getting his fill of pollen off these pretty yellow flowers. I took several shots, but I liked this one the best! He's quite fat!

Later this afternoon we're going to go into Rocky Mountain National Park, so I'm very excited to see what pictures I can get then. Watch out elk, here I come!
