Dec 1962

Today I worked at Tattered Angels most of the day. Then I always go over to my Mom's to set up her pills for the week. So, for today's picture, I decided to be a little nostalgic. A few years ago I went through a box full of old pictures and scanned a bunch so I would have copies. This one was always one of my favorites. This is me, the young one, on my brother's (Don) lap. My brother Doug is about 4 or 5, and my sister Deb sits beside him. This was taken before my youngest sister, Dianne was born. On another day later, I'll post a picture with all five of us.

Chinese take out

Some days, you just gotta do the Chinese take out. Today after school I took Kaitlyn to the doctor, again. It's been nearly two weeks since our last trip to the ER, and she's still in lots of pain. So I took her to the doctor to get a stronger pain medication because Motrin just ain't cuttin' it. So after the doctor, then the long wait at the pharmacy, it just felt like Chinese food tonight. Kaitlyn gets shrimp lo mein, and I get cashew shrimp. Yummy!!

February calendar

Wow! February is almost over already! So I figured I should post the February calendar as one of my pictures of the day. Soon I will have to flip over to March.

13 hour days

The last two days I've worked all day at school, then I've gone straight to the Tattered Angels warehouse to work to help them catch up with all the recent orders. So I've been working till 8:00 each night, making two 13 hour work days. I'm really tired.....so here's two pictures from the warehouse and lots of Glimmer Mist!

"Save Me From Myself"

Today's picture is a shot of Kaitlyn as she finishes this book. I know it looks weird and creepy, but it really isn't - I read it first. It's written by Brian Welch, the former lead guitarist of the heavy metal band, Korn. It's a story of his life as a drug addict while with the band, until he finally hit bottom, and found his life again through God. The really great thing is that this book was first recommended to me by my son.

My computer

I finally have my computer back, and I'm thrilled! Thanks to my friend, Amy, her computer guy, Ben fixed my computer. Apparently it was quite full of viruses, which he cleared off for me. And the really good news is, none of my information or photos were lost!! Yippee! It's great to have it back!

Kitty torture

This was my idea of fun this morning. The kitties can't wait till I finish my cereal so they can have my milk leftovers. Here they are anxiously awaiting, while I am holding the bowl and trying to take the pictures.

My kind of caffeine

I know, I know....it's not Starbucks or a fancy latte. Nope. My idea of a good shot of caffeine is my diet vanilla Coke, or the ever delicious Tab. Kind of retro, but still tastes great! It what gets me through the day!

Kitty Fun

The best $4 we ever spent was on this laser kitty toy. It's great fun to "harass" the kitties while they try to catch the little red dot!! Great entertainment!

Not again!

Yesterday was another day in the ER. Kaitlyn was at work when the abdominal pains came back. I called Urgent Care, and they said I would have to take her to the ER to determine if the cysts had come back. I was pretty sure that one had burst, due to the severe pain she was having. To make a long story short, six hours at the ER, another ultra sound, a cat scan, and the doctor doesn't know the cause of the pain. So we left with pain killers and a goal to visit her family doctor soon. And this is Kaitlyn's meal choice again....toast and grape jelly with pineapple and strawberries. At least the fruit is healthy!

Meeting Darcy

My Mom got a new kitty to help keep her company. Fortunately Darcy is a sweet, rather laid back one year old kitty. She enjoys sitting on laps and meeting anyone who will scratch her ears!

Beautiful morning

Wednesday morning we woke up to this. We had enough frost and snow to coat the trees and grass with white, and then God painted this beautiful sky for us to see! How glorious!

Technique Tuesday

One of my favorite acrylic stamp companies is Technique Tuesday. They have some wonderful stamps. I love these beautiful alphabet stamps with the floral design in them. I received them in the mail today - I was very excited! Now I can't wait to play with them.

New layout

Sunday, February 8th - Today I enjoyed some scrapbooking time in my room. I completed this layout from when I took the girls to Maui, summer 2007. I'm so far behind! But it was fun to have the time to play!

Driver's License

February 7th - Kaitlyn was very excited to get her actual driver's license in the mail today. I guess this makes it more real! So far, she's been doing great as a new driver, and hasn't locked her keys in the car again!!

Grandma and Cole

This is my Mom and my nephew, Cole. He lives in Highlands Ranch with his parents (my brother and his wife). My brother, Doug, wanted Mom to come and visit for a few days, so Cole met me halfway to get Grandma and take her back. She'll spend 3 or 4 days with them, then we'll meet again to get her back home. Aren't they cute together?

New Lotus

See my cool new phone!! I just got it! It's very cool because it has a full keyboard, so now I can actually text!! My daughters have been wanting me to learn to text forever. Now I can!! :-)

RTI

Today (Wednesday) I spent the day at an inservice outside of school. It was RTI, response to intervention. Hopefully it will be an approach to help those struggling students in the general education without immediately testing them for special education services. Basically, it will help train general education teachers ways to intervene and help students that we special education teachers have been doing for years.

Brianna and Taz

Here's Brianna with her kitty, Taz. He has grown up so much, and he sure is ornery. He thinks it's perfectly fine for him to be up on the counters, looking for crumbs and such.

A sign of the times......

I guess, a sign of my times, at least. Here's my youngest, filling out the form to order her class ring. It sure makes me feel old, so I guess, yes, it's a sign of the times.....

Superbowl Sunday

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge football fan. So my day has been spent watching all the fun pre-game shows. And will finish watching the last game of this season. Who am I cheering for? Well, I actually like both teams. I've always been a Steelers fan, loving the "Bus", the quality player in Hines Ward (and his cute smile), Big Ben and several others, including the coaches, Cowher and even Tomlin. I haven't really been a huge Cardinal fan, but I am a huge Kurt Warner fan, back since his days with the Rams. I have a great deal of respect for him as a player and a person. And recently have become a Larry Fitzgerald fan....wow! What a player! So I won't be disappointed with either team as the winner, but probably a little saddened for the loser. Can they both win?
