Today we got a snow day. Yep, May 1st, and we have 12 inches of snow on the ground. So I spent time on this layout. I used some beautiful vintage floral papers by Colorbok, and chose this sweet picture of my Mom and her sister. I'm not sure of the year, but I think it was around 1941. I wanted to keep the layout rather simple because I thought the paper and the picture went so well together. I distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap. I fussy cut several flower clusters and tucked them throughout. The Sweet banner was part of the collection. I used Tim Holtz alpha letters to spell sisters. I colored the letters with Walnut Stain and Antiqued Bronze distress paints. I also cut out the weathered clock from chipboard and distressed with ink. I used the doily to add to the vintage look of the layout. Added a couple of roses and beads sprays and a fabric flower from my stash, and finished it off with some seam binding and a ribbon label.
I like the simplicity of this layout, using a picture I have loved for so many years! Thanks for stopping by!
