Family Moments

Here's the second page to the previous post. I love this picture of my niece's little boys. I thought it captures a tender moment between them.
I used many of the same things as the first page for consistency. I did include a pocket and tag for journaling behind the photo mat.

Here's a shot of the two pages together.

Family layout

This is part of a two page layout. I challenged myself to limit the papers used in this layout to make it more affordable for the class I will be teaching on May 23rd. I'm posting just the first page today, and will post the second page later this week.

I did some stamping and stencil with inks and modeling paste on the background page. I used some coordinating papers to mat the photo, then went through my stash for different embellishments. I love using doilies, buttons, and ribbons. Some brads, a wooden clock, some burlap, a couple of metal embellishments, a title and the page is complete! I also used some Tim Holtz tissue paper under the photo and cut some pennants from leftover paper helps to add interest to the layout.

Hope you like it. I'll post the 2nd page later! Thanks for stopping by!

Tim Holtz album - part 2

Here's the last pages in my mini album. Here I've included a picture of my mom and her younger sister. I continue to use Tim's dies and Collage paper pad, and I have used one of his new frameworks die. I really love them!

This page spread is pictures from my fathers side. He is the youngest, standing with his older brother and sister on the old car running board. In the other picture he is the little boy in front of the bicycle. I really love how the old jalopy and vintage globe turned out.

Here at the end of the album is my parents on their wedding day, 8-27-50. I also shrunk some of their photos and placed them behind the filmstrip die. I really like how that turned out! The last photo is one of my favorites of my mom when she was about three years old.

These last two photos are of the back of the album and the spine.

I hope you like the album. Thanks for stopping by!

Tim Holtz mini album

Here is my Tim Holtz mini album. I've named it Journey. It is just under 9" by 9". The cover was a lot of fun to make. I used many of his dies, paints, stains, alcohol inks, and various sprays. I completed it with some gears and spinners and one of his Curio knobs. I also used some of his fabric for the binding.

Here's a few of the first pages of the album. Throughout the album, I used mainly Tim Holtz and Ranger products, but there are a few laces and ribbons that I also included. I used the Collage 8" by 8" paper pad and black cardstock throughout. I used many of his dies, and lots of grunge paper. All distressing done in the album were with his distress inks. I used only his stamps on the tags in the book.

The photos in the book are from my family. I love the vintage photos of my grandparents and their ancestry. The tiny photos in the film strip above are from the paper line.

These two photos are of my parents when they were young. Aren't they cute!

These photos are my paternal and maternal grandparents. I love these photos because they are so young and having fun. You can also see that I used Tim's stencils on the tags too.

I'm teaching this mini album as a class at Scrap 2 It! on May 2nd and May 3rd. I'll share the rest of the pictures from the album later this week, so stay tuned. The mini album can be seen in the store.

Moments

I love this picture of my nephew and his fiancé. I chose some neutral tone papers from Prima and some corrugated paper to complete this layout. I used my Tim Holtz stencil with distress inks and some added texture with modeling paste. The layering and added embellishments help to complete the page. Finally I added the little burgundy flowers to provide a little pop of color! Hope you like it! I've included some close up photos.

Wedding

This is a photo of my parents on their wedding day, 8-27-50. I have always loved this photo, seeing them so young and full of hopes and dreams. I chose the Stationer's Desk Collection by Prima to create this page. I love this collection, the colors are beautiful and the pages are fabulous! The flourish heart is by Grapevine Designs. I painted it with distress paints and added a bit of glimmer with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. I used other fun embellishments, a Tim Holtz key, pen nib, a word band, and also a clock. Ribbons, lace, flat backed pearls, flowers from my stash and a doily. The title, Love, is a wood embellishment from Michaels that I sprayed with mist. I really liked how this turned out to honor my parents.
