Granny?

Kaitlyn dressed up as an old lady for a game they were doing with her church youth group. She had a lot of fun with it!

Mamma Mia!

One of my new favorite movies has to be Mamma Mia! I know, some people think it's corny, but I love it! And so does Kaitlyn! We love to sing to the Abba tunes!

Monday morning

Here it is, late April, and I think we've had more snow this month than most of the entire winter! Woke up to this beautiful heavy snow this morning!

NFL Draft

It's April, and the closest thing to football is the NFL Draft on ESPN. Not terribly exciting, but it is football related. Got to see where my favorite college players are going......

Art show

Today we went to an art show that my sister, Deb, was at, trying to sell her art. She does beautiful oils and pastels. You can check out some of her beautiful artwork at www.debramickelson.com.

Disney Earth

Kaitlyn and I went to the movie Earth today after school. It was a great film! Wonderful for the whole family, and beautiful scenery and photography!

Gone to Texas

Brianna left today. We actually took several pictures this morning before she left, but somehow, my camera deleted them. I'm so disappointed! We took several with all three of us, and they are all gone. Nothing like adding to my disappointment today! I'm already bummed that she is gone...but so proud of her!

Sunday night

Last night the girls and I hung out together. It's Brianna's last night here before she goes to Basic. We went downtown to eat, had a delicious meal at the Hu Hut, then took a few fun pictures outside. She leaves today.......

Brianna and Cole

Here's Brianna and my nephew, Cole. He came down late last night and stayed with us. Depending on the weather, he'll probably go back to Denver today. It's fun to have him close, and see the kids growing up and enjoying this time with their cousins. He'd like to go to school at CSU, but can't afford it right now.....bummer!

Metro Station Band

Who are they? I'm not sure, but that's probably because I'm old. Apparently the lead singer is Trace Cyrus (Miley Cyrus' older brother). Anyway, they played a free concert this afternoon at my high school, Poudre High School. It was a promotion offered through United Way. A month ago, all the high schools in town had a competition to see which school could get the most volunteer hours from the student body. Poudre won and got this free concert from this band. The band was a mystery until today...supposed to be a surprise. Personally, I was hoping for someone like the Doobie Brothers or The Steve Miller Band.......

Monday's picture

Flash likes to sit on the edge of the bathtub while Kaitlyn showers (don't ask me why!), and she sometimes slips and falls in and gets wet. So she must have been cold.....she crawled under the covers on her own and this is what Kaitlyn found!

Easter Sunday

It was just me and the girls for Easter this year, so we had Grandma come over for our ham dinner. We had lots of deviled eggs and veggies and potatoes. We were all stuffed!!
So after dinner, we decided to take a few group photos. This one turned out nice with Grandma and the girls. Then I thought I'd see if Grandma could take one of me and the girls.......the shot below is what we got.
We had her try again, and we finally we got this picture below....not really centered, but at least our heads are in this one! :)

Coloring eggs

Yes, I know.....they are 16 and 19 years old.....but the girls still love to dye easter eggs. So here's a few shots of our afternoon fun!! Cute, huh?

Movies for the troops

Kaitlyn and I went to Blockbuster tonight to rent a few movies. While there, we also picked up some movies on the 4 for $20 table to send to the troops. A boy in our neighborhood is sending movies to the troops as one of his boy scout badges. Cool idea.....

PHS Special Education staff

The gangs all here....actually, not quite. We're missing a few in this picture. The last couple of years we've tried to take a group picture of us in this department here at school. We also try to color coordinate. One year, we all wore purple. Last year we all wore green. This year we decided to wear black or white, so here we are! Most of us.......

Next year it will be more difficult to get us all in a picture. Since we're adding 9th graders to our building, that also means we're getting more staff. So far it looks like 5 more teachers and 1 more paraprofessional. Yeah!

My two girls

Brianna was over again today since she didn't have to work tonight. I decided I wanted the two girls together for my picture today. In less then two weeks, Brianna will be taking of for Basic Training. I know I'm going to miss her!!

Yet, another sign of spring.....

Kaitlyn and I went to Kohl's today after school. The weather is back in the 60's and Kaitlyn is ready to get some new fun shorts and tops. She got just a few new things that she is excited about!

Barney Miller

One of my favorite old shows is Barney Miller. I used to watch this as a kid, and always loved it. I now have all 8 seasons on DVD and enjoy watching several episodes when I'm working in my scrapbook room. It's definitely one of the funniest police comedies ever! They don't write good comedies like this anymore.

April snow

Here's a couple of pictures I took from my front porch this morning. We had about 4-5 inches of snow overnight. These pictures were taken about 7:00 AM. I thought it was pretty out, and it showed a neat bluish tint in these photos.

Finally, jeans again!

I know Kaitlyn is finally feeling back to normal! She wore jeans to school today! This is the first that she has worn jeans since her surgery on March 4th. She has worn comfy, loose, sweat pants because of her incisions. It didn't help that one was infected, but with an antibiotic, that has finally healed...and she's wearing jeans again! Yippee!

Foxes

One sign of spring that I really love is mommas and their babies. So I'm "cheating" a little on this photo. I didn't take it. Someone at the newspaper did. I saw it (and a few other shots) in today's paper and knew that I wanted this for today's photo. I could have taken a picture of the paper, but it wouldn't have turned out nearly so cute. So, yes, I'm cheating, a little. I have seen many foxes during my early morning walks, but never seem to have my camera handy then....so I'm "borrowing" this shot of a mother fox and two of her kits! How cute!!
