My sister scanned this old photo and sent it to me. I really love these old photos when we were kids. This was in April 1965. I'm the little one standing in front of my sister, Deb. My oldest brother, Don, is holding my little sister, Dianne. And Doug is the cutie with the cowboy boots!!
I then found I had a copy of the picture, but slightly different. In this picture, Deb is holding Dianne, and I love the look from Doug! I wonder what just happened!!

Birthday lunch
Today we went to lunch with my sister, Deb, for her birthday. Her beautiful granddaughter, Dakota, kept us entertained.....what a cutie! She got this cowboy hat for Christmas. She likes to wear it because her grampa wears his cowboy hat. She's quite a "ham"!
Friday afternoon
We received a wonderful surprise with yesterday's snow storm.....a snow day today!! And it was a beautiful day once the sun came out and began to melt the snow. So I went over to Allison's house and spent the afternoon working on scrapbooking projects with Amy and Allison. What a great way to spend a snow day! Love these 3 day weekends!!

Winter is back......
Here's Kaitlyn and me shoveling snow today. We have quite a snow storm coming through our area, in fact we were released from school today at noon. Fortunately, both Kaitlyn and I made it home safely. So I went out to shovel, then Kaitlyn came out to finish up so I could go in and have some hot chocolate!

Spring photo
Here's a shot in front of our home, purposely including the one tree we have on our lot. I've decided to take this photo at the beginning of each season to show the changes of the four seasons, specifically through our tree. With all the great weather we've had lately, you can actually see little green buds on the tree.
Friday night - Scrapbook Club
Here we are at my house this month. This is the group that showed up to work on their pages and Project 365......Debbie (sitting), then left to right, Amy, Jill Z., Jill J., Jen, and me! We had a lot of fun, and hopefully got a lot done!

Car washing kind of day.......
The temps have been so nice this week, even Kaitlyn got out and washed the dirt off of her car. I know she's feeling better if she's out washing her car!

Hangin' with friends......
It's so nice to have spring break! And although I didn't go to Florida or Mexico, I have time to spend leisurely mornings with friends that I usually don't get to hang with! This morning we spent time at Starbucks, chatting, then wandered over to a small scrapbook store, Capture, and got things we had to have! Shout out to my good friends, Allison and Amy!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
Here's the girls enjoying the Irish spirit in them, even if it is only a little bit. As you can see, Kaitlyn is finally feeling much better, shamrock shades and all!

"Jail-bird"
Here's my little "jail-bird". Apparently, this weekend, my mother slightly bumped a car in the parking lot at the grocery store. She didn't think there was any damage, so she just went on home. Then the police called her later that day and asked her if she was involved in an incident. So we had to go the the police station today to fill out an accident report. This is her in front of the police station.
And this is the evidence on her car. I don't know yet what the other car looks like, but it is definitely slightly more than a bump!

Journaling.....
Since I just got my Project 365 Kit, I'm over two months behind on my album. So I had to spend several hours trying to get caught up. It was easy putting the pictures in place, but took quite a bit of time to get the journaling up to speed. Fortunately, it was very helpful to revisit this blog for most of my journaling.

St Patrick's Day parade
I didn't plan to go to the parade today, but sort of ran into it. I went over to set up my Mom's pills for the week, and was detoured because of the parade. This photos were taken on my phone, right in front of Mom's apartment building. Thankfully it was a beautiful day for the parade. I enjoyed watching it for a few minutes!
I'm a "Psych" watcher!
Friday - Okay, I admit it. I actually "tevo" a couple of shows that I never want to miss. But it's not American Idol, or Desperate Housewives, or even the Bachelor like much of the rest of America. No, for me it's Psych. I love this show! It's fun humor without the sex and foul language that seem to be the standard for so many other shows. The other show I tevo is also on Friday nights, Monk. He is hilarious too!

40 day count down
Today I invited my daughter, Brianna, over for dinner since she never has any money in her account, or food in her house. She's on a 40 day count down. That's when she leaves for basic training for the Air Force. She's very excited to go and can't wait. I'm happy to see her so excited about her future.

Pretty toes!
Today, Kaitlyn's employer, Wendy, came by and took her out for a pedicure! What a fun and wonderful thing to do. It really was sweet of Wendy to do that, and really made Kaitlyn's day!

"Darius Goes West"
This afternoon Kaitlyn and I watched a fabulous movie, "Darius Goes West". In this multi-award-winning documentary, 15 year old Darius Weems and eleven of his best friends set off across America with the ultimate goal of getting his wheelchair customized on MTV's Pimp My Ride. Not only does Darius bravely face his own inevitable fate with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, but through his humor and laughter, he sparks a revolution in the lives of everyone he meets! His journey allows him to do things he's never done before, like swim in the ocean, ride in a hot air balloon, and see the Grand Canyon. You know, as a special education teacher, I couldn't make it through this with a dry eye. If you're reading this blog, you need to see this movie!!

A little happiness in the mail!!
Guess what finally arrived today! Now I can try to get caught up with all my photos and journaling. I have the photos printed, so that will be the easy part. The journaling.....not so much! I'm just happy to get started!! Considering the last couple of days at the hospital, this is just what I needed!!

Pharmacy
So now that we are home, this is Kaitlyn's own personal pharmacy. The hospital loaded us up with several prescriptions to get her through pain. And, of course, the pain pills can cause nausea, so we have pills for that too. Not to mention the constipation it all can cause.....
Finally home.......
After several days in the hospital on the surgery floor, Kaitlyn was finally discharged last night. I've included a couple of photos taken over the last few days. The first photo is one of the automatic pump machine that regulated her pain medication the first few days. This was her "best friend" that first night and the next day following surgery. The second photo is a shot of her wrist bands. Everytime she was given medicine, she had to tell the nurse her name and birthdate. The red alert band tells everyone working with her that she has an allergy to vicadin.

Surgery days.......
It's been a couple of crazy days. Wednesday after school I had to take Kaitlyn back to the doctor because she was in so much pain. They sent us straight to admitting at the hospital (thankfully, not the ER again!). She was admitted to the surgery floor. And late that same night she had a scope done and the surgeon also took her appendix. They also found another cyst they removed and some lesions. We're still not sure if all of that was the cause of all the recent pain, but now she's experiencing the pain from surgery. I've only been home a short time, on my way back to the hospital even now. I'm hoping she'll feel good enough to come home today. Shout out to our good friend, Jill, who works on the surgical floor! Thanks for being there!!

Signs of spring?
These poor little tulip sprouts don't know what they're in for, I'm afraid. Once again, we have beautiful temperatures in the low 70's, but I don't think it will last. I think these tulips are rushing the season!

Car washing kind of day!
Here it is, early March, and the highs in the low 70's. What a beautiful day! Rob likes to get the cars in the driveway to wash the dirt and grim off. Yeah, sounds good to me!!

Rub-ons with gemstones!
As a scrapbooker, I enjoy looking for fun new products. I found these the other day at Hobby Lobby. I love the words with the gemstone bling! The three on the right are made by Imaginisce, and the one on the left is by K & Company, part of their Blue Awning line. Love them! Now I can't wait to find the right project for them!
